Annual Lea Park Pro Rodeo
Canada's 5th Largest Outdoor Rodeo  in June just 10 miles north of Marwayne.
 
Lea Park has a long history in the rodeo, one that has become a family tradition past through generations.  It is this feeling that takes over the park every year.  Amongst both the cowboys and the rodeo fans, familiar faces gather at Lea Park for an amazing weekend of rodeo.

Since 2010, the CPRA has recognized LPR at the Canadian Finals Rodeo Awards ceremony in the following categories.

Lea Park Rodeo was the first to have:

  • Saturday -Sunday rodeo starting in the early 1960's.  Traditionally the rodeos were held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 1960 when they were changed to Fridays and Saturdays. 
  • Wild Ride was started here and is now being held in many rodeos throughout the country. 
  • Chute music was also a first that was introduced at Lea Park.


 

The Arts

Music: Tim and Sheila Gibbs played on JUNO Award Winner Jenelle Reinhardt’s album.
The Arts: Cindy Sorley-Keichinger - Wildlife and Nature artist. Designed the 2015 $20 Canadian Mint - to be minted fall of 2015.
