Since 2010, the CPRA has recognized LPR at the Canadian Finals Rodeo Awards ceremony in the following categories.
  • 2010 Medium Rodeo Committee of the Year
  • 2010 Medium Rodeo Ground of the Year
  • 2010 President Lloyd Gray as CPRA Committee Man of the Year
  • 2011 Grounds of the Year in CPRA
  • 2011 Runner Up for Medium Committee of the Year
  • 2013 Most Improved Grounds

Lea Park Rodeo was the first to have:

  • Saturday -Sunday rodeo starting in the early 1960's.  Traditionally the rodeos were held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 1960 when they were changed to Fridays and Saturdays. 
  • Wild Ride was started here and is now being held in many rodeos throughout the country. 
  • Chute music was also a first that was introduced at Lea Park.


The Arts

Music: Tim and Sheila Gibbs played on JUNO Award Winner Jenelle Reinhardt’s album.
The Arts: Cindy Sorley-Keichinger - Wildlife and Nature artist. Designed the 2015 $20 Canadian Mint - to be minted fall of 2015.
