Senior Citizens Group
Marwayne Senior Citizens Club
The Marwayne Senior Citizens Association was established in 1953 and brings together seniors from Marwayne and the surrounding area for a weekly get-together.
Business Meetings: A business meeting is held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
CRIB: The association also hosts a monthly crib tournament from October to May. The Tournaments are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month and draws players from Lloydminster, Wainwright, Dewberry, and the surrounding area. Revenue from the Crib Tournament and the lunch fee pays for pregame brunch, lunch, and afternoon coffee. Cash prizes are paid to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place players and a booby prize to the person with the lowest score.
POT LUCK: Throughout the year we have a number of Pot Luck dinners, a catered Christmas Dinner and a Spring Fish Fry. Frequently we invite local performers to attend a Wednesday meeting. In March of 2013 we were extremely lucky to have the Riverhill Chorus, four women who sang, told some jokes and thoroughly entertained all in attendance.
HALL RENTALS: We are very fortunate to have a newly renovated (2009) building in which to hold our functions; lots of room, nicely decorated and comfortable surroundings. Our hall is available to rent for a reasonable fee and can accommodate up to 40 people for a shower, anniversary or a special birthday. The Senior Association provides an opportunity to socialize, discuss common concerns and successes and relieve isolation. We are a source of information for programs and services offered to seniors. All seniors are welcome to join and we would be pleased to invite you into our circle of friends.
