Intermunicipal Development Plan
Intermunicipal Development Plan between the Village of Marwayne and the County of Vermilion River.

Collaborative Approach

The Village of Marwayne see working together as beneficial for both the municipalities and the parties voluntarily entered into and participated in a collaborative, consensus-based process to reach a shared understanding and make mutually beneficial commitments on several issues.

Councillor Neureuter moved resolution 2018-03-6V, that was passed unanimously, resolving:

Whereas the Province of Alberta has updated the Municipal Government Act making the adoption of Intermunicipal Development Plans and Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks mandatory for all municipalities within the Province in two years from the coming into force of the new MGA;

And whereas the County of Vermilion River is seeking the support from the Village to move forward with the development of the IDPs and ICFs in collaboration with Administrations and Council;

Therefore be it resolved that the Council of the Village of Marwayne direct administration to work with the County of Vermilion River, Village of Kitscoty, Village of Dewberry, and Village of Paradise Valley for the purpose of completing Intermunicipal Development Plans and Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks for their respective intermunicipal boundaries with the County of Vermilion River.
